Here are some of my favorite

Here we have rambutan(the red, hairy one), Durian (prickly skin,
"smells like hell, tastes like heaven" and is smelling-up
my house as I write this, and farang, which is sorta like a big
sour apple. The Thais eat it with a sugar-pepper mixture.

Ah, mangosteen...The first time I saw it I thought it was
way too ugly to eat. Now, I can't get enough of it. It has a delicious
taste, a little like sweet custard. A Must Try if you ever
get to Thailand.

Here is star fruit, young coconut, longan and noi na' (the
knobby ones).the ones with the branches attached are lynchees. The best ones are from Lampang, in the
north .Noi na'
is knobby outside with a sweet inside. The inside is filled with hard black seeds and the fruit between the seeds is very tasty and sweet. The proper way to eat it is to rub the outside away and eat the inside. If you can't rub the outside off, it is not ripe enough to eat. The seeds are too hard to eat and only the fruit between the seeds is fit to eat. If you've
never had the juice of a young, green coconut, you haven't lived. I have
spent many a lazy day on the beach at Koh Samui drinking the juice and then
spooning out the soft coconut meat. The best way is either fresh and cold or slightly roasted over
a fire. YUM!
