As you can also read in my faq's, my hope is to help students learn about other foreign cultures. The more we learn about these 'strange' cultures, the easier it will be for us to accept, and hopefully not see as so strange.... And not go to war against them.
This is at my Heart. No War. Never. Peace at all costs. It's what I preach, everywhere I can. And I hope that, as a teacher, you will encourage Peace and understanding with your students, too.
As for using my website in your classroom, for example, the teacher can research the website for specific information, then assign students to find that information themselves and report where it is located...This encourages the student to use search engines, like this one on the main page http://AsiaRecipe.com/.
In preparation for this, I have prepared a couple of special pages, one to give students a general overview of the AsiaRecipe.Com website and how to use its search features http://asiarecipe.com/findinfo.html, and one page to teach students how to use an Internet Search Engine (Google.com, in this example) http://asiarecipe.com/search1.htmlThe internet has become an incredible source of information for any student, and the sooner they become proficient at using the search engines, the better.
Asiarecipe.com also supports the local Thai teachers by offering continuing-education scholalships and also achievement awards to local teachers of merit.
Please, I would like to hear your feedback and suggestions.
