Richard, For some strange reason, I think you want me to do your school assignment. Maybe I have a sixth sense about these things because I'm a teacher, too...
Anyway, I won't give the answer, but I will tell you where to start looking... http://asiarecipe.com/india.html
Good luck, Richard

Mike, as you might imagine, I get lots of emails like this, too. It's tough to figure out the lazy ones from the clueless ones, at times, so I compromise with some clues, and make 'em work for the rest.
And this should be noticable to anyone coming here...
It's really the perfect place to begin looking, for many.

Yes that's right it's called Thali.
The problem is i don't really know this web site, and never expected to be mistaken for a school boy doing a project.
I am 33 years old, travelled around India about 6 yesrs ago,and could'nt recall the name.
I had just cooked a large Indian meal for friends, two french girls, and an Italian and was trying to explane
how local indians often eat, out of this tray with fingers.
Thank you very much for your help DEEPAK,MIKE,LARRY.
I will use the site again, very well done.
