When did this website start?

How many people work for AsiaRecipe.Com?

It's the manifestation of one person's energy. Mine :-)

Who are you?

An American who has been living in Southeast Asia for more than 20 years. I currently live in Northern Thailand, near a city called Chiang Mai. Educating is my vocation. I've been cooking and sharing about Asian food for more than 20 years. I'm a university teacher, living in Paradise. Really :)

Curently, I am disabled, having two major stokes. I can't walk and I can't talk very clearly. But life goes on! :)

Why did you decide to make this website?

I wanted a place to be creative, share my interests and have fun! On a more philosophical note, AsiaRecipe.Com is on a mission. In my own way, I see it at as a way for people to learn about each other, and share with each other in an interactive, and proactive way. Maybe by being more familiar with each other, we can find more similarities to help make us feel closer and more connected to each other. The Peace symbols throughout the web site are like little subliminal advertisements... Planting a seed... Food for thought :-)

Food, of course, is something that every human being has in common. Also, food everywhere is a direct reflection of the local people, culture and way of living. By learning something about the food from a particular region, we also learn about the culture and lifestyle in that region.

Is this a commercial website? Do you sell something?

No, it is not a commercial website, and we don't sell anything to people who visit AsiaRecipe.Com. We do sell banner space to some companies, and if you buy a book from Amazon.com through us, we get a small percentage of the deal.

I donate the proceeds from banners and books to a local school near my village. The funds are used by the school to pay for books, food, and housing for hilltribe children who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to go to school. If you are interested in learning more about this school- or even helping the school in some way, you can contact me directly .
